rplidar a1 360° laser scanning range radar is a low-cost lidar solution developed by slamtec. it carries out 360° laser scanning ranging within 6m radius on a 2d plane, and generates map information of 2d point clouds in the area. the cloud map information could be used in ground mapping, robot localization and navigation, object / environment modeling and other practical application. when sampling is set at the frequency of 360° per week, rplidar scanning frequency reaches 5.5hz and is up to 10hz. with slamtec-developed low-cost laser triangulation ranging system used, rplidar does well in different indoor environment and outdoor environment with no direct sunlight.
